New Delhi, November 7, 2025 – Tensions flared today at the Yamuna Sports Complex during the YSCL Nationals 2025, as a high-stakes finale match between the Bengal Cheetahs and the Assam Bulls was overshadowed by an unsportsmanlike altercation.
The incident, which occurred during play, involved Assam Bulls player Shriyesh R Khade and Bengal Cheetahs player Daksh Gupta.
Video from the match shows a heated verbal exchange between the two players. The confrontation escalated abruptly when Shriyesh R Khade was seen forcefully shoving Daksh Gupta, causing the Bengal Cheetahs player to stumble backward.
Umpires and fellow players from both teams immediately rushed to the scene, intervening to separate the two athletes and de-escalate the situation.
The YSCL Nationals, which represent the culmination of Season 4, have been a showcase of India’s most promising young talent. This unfortunate incident served as a blemish on an otherwise intensely competitive match. The Board of Sports in India and the Young Stars Cricket League (YSCL) are founded on the principles of fair play and respect.
The incident has become a significant talking point, serving as a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining composure and upholding the spirit of cricket, especially on the national stage.
