India head coach Gautam Gambhir has temporarily left the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 tour due to a family emergency. He departed for Delhi but is expected to rejoin the team ahead of the second Test in Adelaide, starting on December 6.

In Gambhir’s absence, assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar, Ryan ten Doeschate, and Morne Morkel will oversee the team’s preparations for the upcoming pink-ball game against the Prime Minister’s XI at Manuka Oval, Canberra, scheduled for November 30 and December 1. The match serves as a crucial warm-up ahead of the much-anticipated day-night Test in Adelaide.
