Buckingham joined Mumbai City in 2021 and led them to the ISL League Winners’ Shield in an emphatic fashion. He also led them to their first win in the AFC Champions League last year.
Coach Des Buckingham has parted ways with Indian Super League club Mumbai City FC to join third-tier English side Oxford United.
Buckingham began his professional coaching career at Oxford United at 18, and it’s no surprise that he jumped at the opportunity to coach the team which have been without a full-time manager since February 2023, when Karl Robinson left the club to join Leeds United as assistant manager. Craig Short has been in charge of the side since.
